I used to have proof that I was alive
I didn't go to work today,
I didn't do anything
I didn't think of times now passed
I didn't talk to anyone.

I didn't smoke the boredom away
I didn't even have a drink
time just slipped away
It felt like a breeze
seemed like a breeze

as life retreats
I feel more awake when I'm asleep
beyond belief
I feel more alive in my dreams

I didn't go to work today,
I didn't do anything
I didn't once see your face
I didn't talk to anyone.

as life retreats
I feel more awake when I'm asleep
I feel more alive in my dreams
more awake in my sleep
