How insomnia plays in one's life.
Dawn breaks and I am awake.
Golden sun peeks through my window.
I rally the strength to rise.

Insomnia tries to break me.

It will never shatter my will.
For I will battle it to the end.

No pills or alcohol can ease my pain.
I do not rest my refuge is vain.

I write, I read. I enter a great divine.

Insomnia tries to break me.

Dusk comes and I feel my energy.
Time to fight another night.

Time is not of importance.
Restlessness is my friend.

Insomnia weakens the tired.
For, I am not weary.

Insomnia tries to break me.

Cast a shadow cast a stone.
I walk in the shadows I walk alone.

Silence is calling, my mind is on fire.
Light burns my eyes for it pains me.

I seek refuge from the storm within.

Insomnia tries to break me.
