An overheard conversation and observations on a train journey.
Talking on the Train

Seated right in front of me
They're talking on the train,
Their fifty years together
Showing clear and plain.

A gentle conversation
Flowing back and forth.
An easy way of being
On a train headed North.

And I am wondering
How on earth they do it
Half a century passed
Like there's nothing to it.

I wonder about their life,
What they might have seen
And I wonder if they wonder
What they might have been?

Seated right in front of me
They're talking on the train,
Half a century of love
Is showing clear and plain.
