looking out my window about love.....
I look out my window
skies blue, clouds scarce
the naked budding trees
sway violently,
dancing to the music of the wind.
All of a sudden- nothing.

The air is still
The world is still.
For one moment, hatred is forgotten
all talking and arguing stop
and cars do not move.

Peace.

The wind begins to blow slowly again.
A little old couple walk out of their house.
The walk down the side walk arms around each other
protecting each other from the cool, bitter wind.
Then, when everything is safe again,
they are hand in hand.
The world begins to move again.
They've been through so much,
so many years together.

It's been so long and they are still
so much in love.
It want mine to last.
I dream of growing old with you, love.
Holding hands till our skin crinkles
and our hair greys.

My attention turns away from outside my window
to the arms that wrapped themselves around my waist.
My love, he is with me.
he says "sometimes, wishes do come true."
I smile and think to myself,
it just may happen.
