A Haibun for 'The Writers Cramp' Contest
on the couch, fretting quietly, unknown.  distraught, unhappy, uncaring to anyone.  he sits, lingering, loving her.  an uneasiness hanging in the air felt by none and all.  good books on the shelf, painstakingly created pictures hanging, objective photos in frames, no tv, no radio.  roommate yelling on the phone.  hands on her shoulders relieve an imagined weight.

distant mountains
crying for company
during the spring rain

leaving, the door ahead, her escape behind him.  a broken flower pot is remembered, blue car.  sleepless, distraught, caring.  disaffected understanding, the twain is two lones.
