About my school year and how it flew by.
As I come up on the last few days of this school year, I reminisce on the year and realize how quickly it really went by. I read my essay that I wrote about halfway through first term and how much everything has really changed. However, it doesn't seem like I've been in school long enough for anything to change at all. I chose my official shop [Graphics] about two weeks ago, I've befriended a guy and think I'm starting to fall in love, made many friends that really care about me, and made Honor Roll three out of four terms. I still can't believe that today was my last full day of Freshman year.

The friends I've made are amazing. The closest are Melinda, Jake, John, Kirstin, Tyler, Kristen and Olivia. The only person I knew before this year is Jake, but all the others are brand new and are absolutely incredible. John is the guy I think I'm falling in love with. He makes me laugh and he does the simple things for me that make him so adorable, like holding doors, staying behind with me if I can't keep up with everyone else. I used to get nervous everytime I spoke to him but now I have no problem because he's one of my best friends. Who knows?

A couple weeks ago, our final shop was chosen. I chose Graphic Arts over Commercial Arts. I fell in love with Graphics and I haven't gotten bored yet, which really helps. I'm in Graphics with Kirstin, Olivia and a guy named Steve. I'm having a ton of fun and I absolutely love it. It's a trade that I can picture myself doing in the future, after I get out of school.

After I slipped a bit during second term, I brought my grades back up and I'm back to being an Honor Roll student. I've also been tipped that I got a Work Ethic award, which I will receive Tuesday. We also got our GPAs once after second term, where I was getting a 4.1 [and I was 10th in my class] and then again a couple weeks ago, and it had gone up to a 4.2. I couldn't believe how well I'd been doing this whole year, even after being gone for a week when I went to my cousin's wedding in Arizona.

All in all, this year was absolutely amazing. However, I think it went by too quickly. All the friends that I made at school live in different cities that are at least a half hour away. Therefore, I won't be able to see them as often as I do now, but at least I can talk to them online. I also know that Freshman year is known to be the quickest year of the four and next year, I'll be in Honors classes. So as much as I can't wait for summer, I hope next year will go by as quickly as this one did.
