Vampire poetry
The bite already taken
The change readily fading
My body dead, lies on the ground
My mind alive begins to sound
My eyes, pulsing with newly drunk blood
Slowly open to take in the new world.

The night sky welcomes my very soul
Warming me like the fire's warm coal.
The wind in the trees silently weaves
Past the hunters of the night hiding in their leaves.
My eyes, slowly, move down
Past a stone guardian silently seated on the ground
His eyes are open and watching me
Into my soul, he can clearly see.
His claws desperately tangled like roots in the earth
A witness to my soul's new birth.
Whispers of the night travel on the wind
Ghost of their owners, their messages they send.
This new world which has opened to me
Is what, as a vampire, my bloody eyes do see.
