Much of tomorrow depends on yesterday
Hands that hold

The hands that rocked the cradle
and held me in my youth,
were hands that without question
taught me the simple truth.
That though a people prosper
they never can be more,
than what they live believing
is worth the dying for.
-
And those who hold tomorrow
will be the one's indeed,
who give their life in service
to those who are in need.
-
The hands that rocked the cradle
though they be growing old,
still have within their power
to shape that which they hold.
That's why there is a comfort
in loving hands I know,
that rocked the cradle for me
so many years ago.
