This is a poem I wrote to honor the lineage of my ancestors. ;-)
First Born

I was nurtured in the womb of the full moon.
Birthed under a blanket of stars.
I joined in the worship of the Oak.
I delighted in the maiden’s circle.

We lived without doubt.
We lived without fear.
We knew nothing of death.
We live forever.

I was bathed in the midnight shadows.
Taught in a school of radiance.
I reveled in the sacred rites.
I loved in a world of purity.

We awoke in horrid shock.
We hid from the birth of the God.
We knew nothing of golden moons.
We shunned the ebony dogma.

I was led behind the elders.
Forced to fade into myth.
I wept at the destruction to come.
I am a child of the First Born.
