"Star Trek" Shakespearean Sonnet written for contest.
The Klingon ships surround the Enterprise.
"All phasers fire right now," says Captain Kirk.
"I think they want to talk," is Spock's surmise.
"You're right, this time they are not so berserk."

"We must keep red alert with weapons charged."
And Scotty answers back with just a nod.
On the view screen enemies look enlarged.
And Bones says, "It may just be a facade".

"We're being hailed," Uhura speaks her line.
Kirk turns to her and tells her to respond.
The Klingon curses and calls him a swine.
"We must meet now and speak of a new bond!"

The Klingon and a girl transport, she moans.
"She's pregnant, Jim," comes from the mouth of Bones.
