My first poem.I spent only a year in Canada (language barrier).Dark outlook.Don't laugh!
Once upon a time, there was love, literature,
Statues of warriors large, and miniature,
Who fought for liberty, the love of their families,
Who had no greed for lures, objects silvery.

Was Darwin true? Yes, in eras following,
There were crusades among the human beings coming,
Those who survived had gone through metamorphosis,
All turned into gluttonous beasts.

Alas, the love for art, music suffocated,
The tunes left are now ruined and savaged,
To create the utmost delicacy, Mozart spent eons practicing,
The latter, obstreperous concerts are indeed devoid of feeling.

We ignore children for their purity,
Ahhh, how could we consider this innocence naivety?
Since we spent our lives, for gold and reputation, enticing,
Our contaminated souls respond merely with ignorance or momentarily persuasive coaxing.

Conventions as vigilant as owls scrambled for human redemption,
There are loafs of flesh everywhere, no souls, forced by temptation,
In various beliefs, there is an almighty prayed,
Done without the smallest belief, the rites are not anymore cared.

Courage is extinct,
Shining as the elixir of life if shone in someone distinct,
Artists, interests smother beneath the expectations,
Neither spiritually, nor physically, there is no need to battle nowhere, in the presence of new inventions.

The ingenious struggle to create pleasure,
The inventions happened to be a device for genocide, stress and pressure,
Optimistically, Edison distributed electricity,
Nowadays, an apparatus to burn redeemable individuals with simplicity.

Once upon a time, we had lives authentic and uncomplicated,
Without so much vying, ambitious eyes or attempt to be the most complimented,
We struggled voraciously to create better lives, feeling we were already stuck in the dark,
Without any thought or anticipation, we did not lighten this world but in this vast ocean, changed it into a tipsy ark.
