Memories of one gone.
WHAT YOU MEANT TO ME: A BUNDLE OF RAGS

What you meant to me is not
What you mean to others.
The contrast between the two
Is what my mind suffers.

I gathered your last remains,
Faded photos, letters,
Along with your journal and
Red shawl and two sweaters.

Packing them in a blue box,
To old age home I went,
Where the box, by my landlord,
Was to be later sent.

It’s today one year that you
From my side have now gone.
The box of your memories
Has till today not shown.

How I miss you and the box,
Only my heart does know.
Though I bleed inside but my
Tears I can to none show.

The box was for me yourself,
Losing it caused a gap.
For others it was but a
Bundle of rag and scrap.
