This was the worst hailstorm New Hampshire had ever seen.
The Storm

The day is calm and quiet,
The leave flutter in the breeze.
Look! Off to the east!
Here comes the rain that will not ease!

The shadows advance, yet its only noon.
The birds retreat; its much too soon!
There are the first few drops,
Smacking the ground like a bunch of flip-flops!

Here comes the sun, my friend,
Oh! Here is the rain again…
Heavier and more windswept than ever before,
It looks like it will be raining forevermore!

Oh, the noise! The wind is howling,
The hail is pounding,
The windows shattered
And the rain splattered!

It is peaceful again,
Like a normal summer day.
The storm has gone on its way,
Yet we sit the day away.
