Facing the loss of a friend
Through the wall they weave
Their journeys never end.
Vines of love and sorrow,
times treasured with a friend.

Here today for always
we laugh and share a cry.
Together friends forever are
until time to say goodbye.

The vines weave their pattern
through that solid wall.
Here today for a while,
tomorrow, gone from all.

Friend our time is shared.
Both joy and sorrow too.
Memories, a lifetime known.
With caring hearts that grew.

We see their beauty there,
rose vines on that wall.
Knowing deep inside us
those petals will surely fall.

Hold close our friendship now,
never to leave our heart.
Even though it be determined
it's time for us to part.

Alone, we are left standing,
our friend beside us still.
Looking at the wall of vines
with an empty heart to fill.

The petals lying at our feet
and vines with nothing there.
But behold the other side,
roses, everywhere....
