the change of the relationship between a father and son

Coming out I had no clue
On how to act or what to do.

Later on I learned from him
Where to start and how to begin.

I grew more and liked it less
The more he wanted I could care less.

I grew older and thought I knew better
Everyday the tension grew heavier.

Then it came I couldn’t take it
That little thing had to break it.

I had to leave, couldn’t stay
Nothing he did could change this day.

Now I’m out and on my own
Thinking back and setting the tone.

My life is now and what do I do
What that man, my father, taught me to do.
