Trying to teach others not to make the same mistakes.
I now begin to see a reflection of me.
When I look at you,
I think back to my youth.

How I cried, how I lied.
People thought bad of me,
and only now it is clear to see.

You're following in my footsteps,
placing each foot in the same one,
the wrong one, and failure comes along.

You can't hide from the crowd.
You lie, but you're still proud.
You're as stubborn as me.

The reflection's getting clearer.
A face closing in, getting nearer.
Don't you know there's nothing to fear?

How I cried, how I lied.
People think bad of you too.
I know what you're going through.

You're following in my footsteps,
placing each foot in the same one,
the wrong one, and failure comes along.
