A poem about feeling small and helpless in a lonely, dark world.
Poem 1:
How Long Has Love Lost Me? (Romance, Relationship, Spiritual)
A poem about feeling small and helpless in a lonely, dark world.

A small light shines on my face
on a dark beach, it's an empty place.
No one to share this evening.
No one to know what I'm feeling.

How long has love lost me?
I'm just a pebble on this beach,
a lifetime of love's just out of reach,
waiting for The One to wrest me free.

I'm just a pebble in this sand,
looking for the tender, loving hand
to pick me up and put me in her pocket.
I'm the missing face inside her locket.

How long has love lost me?
The small light fades into another dawn,
my illuminated audience now gone.
I'm just a pebble in this crusted sand.

The sea wakes beneath the skies,
putting salty tear drops in my eyes
before I am able to suddenly see
there is a pearl resting next to me.

Poem 2:
If I Leave Her (Romancer, Love, Spiritual)
Undecided and caught in moments that could change a relationship.

I don't know if I'm turning to her,
or if I'm leaving her.
I don't know if it's worth the time
that it's been taking.

She doesn't show any of the signs.
She hasn't given me the time.
I've been wondering so long
if I love her, if I need her,
if I'll leave her.

If I leave her,
then I'll never know
if it was worth a try.
Does she ever wonder why
I keep hanging on?

The days grow long,
our nights cut short,
and she tells me to leave
and I find I'm leaving.

If I leave her early tonight,
I'll just think how much
that I'll be needing her
until morning's first break of light.

I don't know if I'm turning for her,
or if I'm leaving her.
She wants me to stay,
then she wants me to go away.

Will I miss her, will I need her,
if I leave her?
Would she want me back?
Would she need me,
if I say I'll stay forever?

Morning Eyes (Romance, Relationship, Spiritual)
Looking into the eyes of love to know if she really does love you, too.

After desperate tries, I tried to surmise
what lies behind her morning eyes.
She makes me weak, or so I am told,
when her sunlit eyes meet mine.

Deep inside, anxiety waits for our time to come,
pleasing morning eyes that take in sunrise.
Let the sun filter through the blinds,
as I wonder what she sees in me.

Morning eyes, take me to where you hide.
Expose what's behind your beauty and charm,
let me into your mind, as I lay at your side.

Morning eyes, don't steal all of the sun
Lift those pretty lashes, it can't do no harm --
before the moon rises, am I the one?

After desperate tries, I tried to surmise
what lies behind her morning eyes.
She made me weak, at least I'm told,
when her sunlit eyes met mine.
