Something I found when I was clearing out my folders! A poem about euthanasia.
Another Angel.

A whisper reached my ears that day,
The words I heard, but would not comprehend.
Your voice so soft, it seemed that you would pray,
A message to the heavens you would send.

And in my sorrow, I couldn’t bear to hear,
That to free you now would be my greatest gift.
A release from pain the only thing you’d need,
And into His arms, your soul would lift.

An agony so great, there was nothing left of you,
Like a ghost, you were not really there.
And suddenly I knew what it was I had to do.
The one way I could show you how I care.

To let you go, and watch your spirit fly,
Your suffering finished, I’d end your pain.
And in those final moments of Goodbye,
Another angel would the heavens gain.
