A poem to my boyfriend who's leaving for S. Africa next year. Pity he'll never see this!
Will you remember me in 5 years, or 20?
Will you remember how I felt, snug in your arms?
Will you remember how you left me behind you, empty?
Or will our love be remembered in an old wife's yarn?

When you run off to travel, will your memories stay here?
When you search out yourself, will my face stay clear?

I can't tell you 'til you're gone and not coming back,
I can't tell you I love you and tell you my fears,
I can't tell you when I think of it, my heart does crack,
When I think to my future, without you for years.

Will we meet again as you're convinced we will?
Will we survive this mountain, or is it a hill?

Will you have fallen in love with an African beauty?
Will you recognise me, if Fate deems we meet?
Will you agree we are Soulmates out of some sense of duty?
Or will you agree the mountains and hills we did beat?
