Perhaps someone can suggest a title that fits but doesn't give away the last line?
Gently the wind blows bringing to mine ears a multitude of sound...
The rustle of the leaves, happy notes sung on a chime.
Closing my eyes I listen closer, waiting...
True love's first kiss, childish delight found deep in a puddle of mud.
Waiting still, it must be soon now...
The sweep of clouds across the sky, trees yawning in tired relief.
Yes closer now, just another moment...
Far off a star flickers and goes out...
A civilation dies...
Illness overtakes another.
There, yes there it is the sound I have been listening for...
It is the most terrible sound in the universe...
It is the sound of indifference.
