Family life
Oer' the din of brakes and engine purr
we say goodbye at each stop and go
My breath upon the window fogs
peering down at waving hands below

A steepled church comes into view
another bend then home at last
We hurriedly gather lunchtins and bags
  anxiously awaiting the seconds past

Fall's brisk air greets us at the door
we grasp lapels of warming fur
Saying our goodbyes at each passing smile
oe'r the din of brakes and engine purr

Steps are quickened as we see
our homes warming glow
Hot toddy and cookies fill our minds
from the loving hands we know

Seeing the loving smile and outstretched arms
that greet us each ending day
We'd slow our steps into a walk
pretending to look the other way

Though heavy laden with the day's full bore
we cannot contain our glee
That set our feet now a-running
till in Mother's loving arms we'd be...
