The statue of Liberty
Silhouette

Looking up on the smoke to hear myself choke
the silence of my heart beat, never to retreat
as the fire billow the smoke looks like pillows
ashes to ashes and dust to a though of what must
be the never ending nightmare as the blanket of dis pare
envelopes the city as it begins to weep
the darkness falls like a last curtain call
I stand hear to watch the pain that you have led me to bleed
and realize that I will still be the one to stand tall
for I am the symbol in light of it all
My torch a blaze you will hear me say
"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free
, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempesttost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door"
I am the symbol of freedom and that will not fail
for I hold the torch that many set sail.
I am the statue of liberty; you have struck me
now it's my turn to give you hell
wait for the ring of the liberty bell.....
