This poem is about living and loving in the present.
A Love Between the Breath

It is a love between the breath we share.
A love of now and here, that lies not in yesterday nor in tomorrow.
Between the tight and fierce embrace and the calm of open slow release.
It is of the brink and of the flood, of the welling of the tear as well as the fall.
It is the powerful pause between the flash and thunder, the grace between the slap and the cry that pierces the air to announce a new soul.
It is the space between the fullness of pleasure or pain and the moan that signals it's end.
It is between the ebb and the flow, between the come and the go.
It is not of promise or of contract.
It is not owned, nor free.
It is as twilight, not dawn nor dark.
