A poem I wrote when I was more than a little bit angry about things in this world..
As I breathe in the fermented air,
I wonder why no one seems to care..
I begin to wonder, am I alone?
Am I the only one hearing Gaia's moan?
A rancid stench rises high,
Stretches up to touch the ash-filled skies.
"What happened to the world, since I was last here?
The Earth used to be held so dear.."
Blackened trees as far as the eye could see,
I can't understand how this came to be.
I start to wonder, eyes so wide
Since when have people begun to hide?
When last I was here, people wanted the truth
But now I appear to be the only sleuth.
The air reeks of the corrupt
The half-century change seems so abrupt...
The world needs to be purged
Before all is merged.
I hear a small sound
And quickly turn around.
She walks from the rubble
Without a single stumble.
A vision black she appears to be
Until she lets her hair down free.
When released she becomes divine
And the truth she does define.
"When all of you slept, and humans were here
Their own judgement they began to fear.
Reverting to sheep, they were easily led
And now are almost dead.
If again you pull together
All the birds of a ffeather
All will be right and all will be done
And then you can commence to have your fun.
You are the Hermit, you are their guide
It is you to whom they'll confide.
Gather them all and guide them true.
You will know what to do."
