What do you find in the midst of darkness but when a small light finally shines?
Restless.
Seconds pass by like
eons, lost in the endless
moments traversed
only by those unsure
of where they're going.
Am I one of them?
Weary traveler, tired feet,
dizzied by the never-
ending dance of footsteps
misplaced.

Questioning.
Moonlight pours in through
open windows and open
hearts, softly landing on
awaiting questions that
seem to have no
answers. Breezes whisper
in past cloth drapes,
looking out on the open
tempid waters of the
blue ocean turned black
in the night.

Anxious.
Dolphins guide a wooden
boat to shore, toward
trembling hands expecting
something to hold. A
stillness catches breaths
and dreams in the air
and chills run feverently.
Two eyes search, two minds
question, two sets of lungs
breathe in deep, two
sets of hands hold on tight,
one heart beats.

Beginning.
The rustle of wings and
flutter of heartbeats
breaks the silence trapped
in time. Butterflies turned
small birds burst into
silenced darkness, giving
way the timeless colloquial
lullaby of love. The
melodious sound of light
streams in and guides
the lost, now found.
Take my birds and
set them free,
they're yours to keep.
