"The lone man sleeps...as Nature upholds the balance between night and day..."
The warm, beautiful, and natural sun –
The lone man walks beneath clean, clear, picturesque skies.
The ground is firm and cemented under his feet
And his strides relax and move like the swaying
Green foliage all around him.
Nature appreciates the lone man’s love for her.

The uneven, cemented ground gives way to a gouge –
An unseemly, gravelly fissure whose form was ordained
By Nature’s indiscriminate, yet practical, purpose and whim.
The lone man takes note of the fissure
Of asphalt, and its lovely, adaptive form.

The fiery sun now displays its orange glow,
Receding beneath the horizon of trees and shrubs
On dry, grassy hills in the distance.
The lone man, fatigued and growing sleepy,
Seeks to retire for the evening,
Finding shelter at a good friend’s habitat down the road.
Later that evening, upon finishing a sumptuous dinner,
The lone man sleeps, surrounded by a shelter
Bathed in moonlight, as Nature upholds the balance
Between night and day,
And the coming and going of darkness and light.
Nature smiles as the lone man dreams happy thoughts
Of a brilliant and hopeful tomorrow.
