A young woman dealing with depression
I stand in my glass prison
watching all those i love
living their lives happily
I yearn to join them.

Their lives are filled with emotion
Warmth. Happiness. Love
I am hollow. cold. numb.
I stand motionless, as though made of stone.

My eyes are dry from crying.
my mind, too sore from thinking.
Doing battle with these dark thoughts.
trapped eternally in this endless abyss.

I thrash against the darkness
in a feeble attempt to reach the light.
My attempts go unrewarded
no stream of light has entered my prison.

So i wait patiently in my glass prison.
Waiting pointlessly for help.
My voice, gone hoarse from screaming.
I cannot be saved. I am trapped
