This is something I wrote when I felt particularly melancholy. Self Examination.
I woke up, got out of my bed. My bed is a twin, and the mattress is the worst. I stepped into the hallway. I swear I felt ice below my feet. I trudged through the arctic blizzard. I reached my bathroom. My deep brown shag rug waited patiently to warm my feet. I will skip my undressing because it is the same process. I'll spare you the naked truth. That was a pun intended. I'll also skip the shower scene, though most boys are into that. Long story short, I have little conditioner left, and I cut my left leg shaving. This is probably losing your interest so I will get on with it.

I work in an office. Offices are generally more practiced so I have to dress like I care. The professional side walks hurriedly into R & R Insurance Agency at 7:30 am. By 7:30 pm I walk into The Free Spirit Cafe a pacifist. I am enveloped in ideas of peace, incense , and acoustic guitars. The Spirit wraps you in tranquility and serves relaxation with every idea exchanged.

In the office,  my drink of choice is coffee. In the Spirit, it's always green chai. In the office, it's black heels. After that, it's bare feet, exposing my forest green toe nail polish. It matches my eye color. I love trees from 7:30 pm to 7:30 am. The hours I spend in between are defiling nature and calculating numbers. Yes, I'm a walking contradiction. I love it.

I have more than one side of me. My professional side is conservative. My tree hugging mentality has driven me to liberalism. I give my support to the war, yet I protest it. I bring less to the table than a jobless young father. Yet, I built the table. Why? I am composed of more than one idea. I am two people respectively. Aren't you?
