I am Scottish and PROUD OF IT! I gave some overdue credit to our brave warriors
The Highlander

A streak of red of blood of thread
Awash with blue and green
Pleated folds wrap the man sae bold
His enemies has he seen

A glint of steel, his threat so real
As the Sgian-dhu beneath
His sporran holds treasures untold
Twa his Caberfeidh bequeath

Hid under his sark are many a mark
Tallies of Sasennach dead
Noble and strong, broadsword sae long
For his countrymen he has bled

Flowing red locks stretch down twa the tops
Of his shoulders sae muscular there
Regal blue eyes with warrior cries
Redcoats do flee from his stare

With piobreach and fiddle he weaves a fair riddle
Thars many a lass to woo
Nieghan dance fer this highlander's glance
But twa one and only he's true

Power to spare as that of a bear
None match the highlands in might
Stubborn and wise, sae thick the clan ties
Great hunter the boar shall he smite

Beyond endless ages, through numerous pages
The highlanders' taught us all
With valiance to stand and honour in hand
Thars none that rise sae tall.
