Domestic abuse is all too common in this world we live in.
I don't know you,
But our secret's the same.
In your shaded eyes
I can see the shame.

I've been there before.
I walked a mile in your shoes.
You wanna stay,
'Cuz you got nothin' to lose.

But, listen, Baby Girl -
That's not the way it is.
It's not your fault.
All the blame is his!

In the beginning,
He was sweet as pie could be.
He told you,
"Girl, you mean the world to me."

So you opened your heart
And let him walk right in.
But, no one anywhere,
Said love was a sin.

I've been there before.
I walked a mile in your shoes.
You wanna stay,
'Cuz you got nothin' to lose.

But where are you now?
You're in a prison cell.
All this time you've
Been livin' in hell.

One word can free you -
If only you'll speak it.
And that dark secret -
You don't have to keep it!

Hold out your hand,
No matter how it shakes.
Someone will be there
As the chain breaks.

Listen to me -
There's no need to be afraid.
No need to hide
Where his hand was laid.

Someone will hear
No matter how soft you whisper.
I know your heart...
I'm a Secret Sister.

I've been there before -
Walked a mile in your shoes.
What happens next?
YOU CHOSE!
