I was dancing when I wrote this...
Like a Worthy Mystic

Smiling
         My face flushed
         For my aloneness
And unshared humanity flowed from me
         in warm firelight
As I danced
Like a worthy mystic

Come to me
         Orphans
         And oppressed
Among the notes
Of mysteries
         Find recourse for unforgiving circumstance.

Join this dance,
         I have eaten neither
And will fill your hungry eyes
         With overflowing revelation

Enter the garden,
By these gates whose
         Guarding angels sleep
And take fresh knowledge
                   from that ancient tree.

Fathers reunite with love
         The abandoned.
Mothers turn your eyes
         Like mirrored lenses.
Fill yourself
Like gluttons
on this humanity.

Dance
         In secret
Or with ancient mystics.

That I do not dance alone
         And flush for my aloneness
As swelling sparks
And sayings
Surround me like the Temple Mount.
