Written For 99 words contest
I stood, Perched on the edge of my balcony, gazing in wonder upon my lands and the monuments that it contains. I allowed a small grin escape me.

“Who would have thought that such a nation could achieve so much, from so little? Come, celebrate with me”

I lifted my Golden Chalice above my head. Two hundred thousand Egyptians lining the once empty streets below me, followed eagerly

Turning to my wife, I urged her forward for all to see. She had cost my nation dearly, yet the peace she brought with her, was a rich reward.

“To Egypt”
