I was 13 when I discovered a part of me I didn't know. I have learned to love me
Comfort me in my time of pain
Don't turn your head and walk away

I can't explain these feelings inside
would it be easier if I were a guy

You pursued me not the other way around
now when I need you the most, you can't be found

Go join your friends and call me names
Your hurtful words won't make me change

And when you run out of things to say,
and turn around to walk away

Don't think I'll hang my head in shame
I'll still be here, and I'll still be gay
