A loving, healing embrace via simile (16 lines of intermittent rhyme)

Friend, do not hide in fear
  or turn away in shame.
You can show me your wounds
  and share with me your pain.
Know you are not alone;
  I turn and do the same.
Let us stretch up and out
  like trees, together frame
A sacred space to look
  with gentle, friendly gaze.
Empathy and presence
  sustain our selves upraised.
Perhaps a graft will form
  with patience over days
Where both our wounds converge
  and bond in healing ways.
