This is the story of my love
I'm afraid that if I let you in...
Into my heart you'll just break it again...
One time I let down my guard and opened my heart
You came in and like the rose and grew
But, your eviction notice was soon due.
Because just like a rose you had thorns
Thorns that were sharp and caused me to bleed
