A victim of abuse walks with shame
She walks in shadows.
Her face hung low
can't hide the pain.
His loving touch
painted a rainbow across her face.
Tears of shame
blister behind her eyes.
A shadow of who she used to be
a haunted nightmare of yesterday.
The eyes of strangers
burn into her soul
she sees their accusations
but no tears will fall today
she's too worn down to care.
So she counts the days
till the bruises fade
and she can hold her head up high.
Why cant she see
that she's living a lie?
