This is a poem about the fraility of human kind.
Far from shelter
A companion of peril
I lift my eyes to God
Search the heavens.

My path strewn
With barbwire
Unable to view the beauty
For the desolation.

Eternity smiles down
Upon our lost state
Finds amusement
In our wretchedness.

Wide-eyed nonetheless
Beings of understanding
Would concede,
Yea recognize.

But not us,
Not the humans
We must ignore the warnings
And trudge onward.
