A short plea to God, as I understand him/her
Dear God - My Omnipotent Being,

I do not know if you are male or female or either, but...

I love you, I need you, yet I disobey you.
You have been so good to me,
Yet I act like a petulant child.

Children misbehave.
They think they should have everything;
Every toy, every doll, every dress.

They want to have material things
To be like their friends,
So they think.

Not to be an individual,
Happy with what they have.

But I am an adult.

I am learning to love you more, to obey you more,
To appreciate you more.

For I realize what I really have.

I have so much.
More than most.
I just don't realize it.

I open my eyes each morning,
I see the sun rise and shine,
Yet I choose to focus on the rain that will fall.

I open my eyes each morning,
and am able to move my
Two Hands,
Ten Fingers,
Two Legs
and Ten Toes.
(despite my fall).

Then I look at others who have,
One Hand,
Five Fingers,
One Leg
and Five Toes.
(if any at all).

And I cry to you and plea for your forgiveness for my petulant behavior.
