An attempt at entering the mind of someone who lives on the life of others.
It's all perfectly still

I take her hand into mine;
cold as a fish

"It's warmer here"
I place her hand
on top of her chest;

The familiar touch of blood
covers our joined fingers

So hot,
it burns
A lot of life in this one

I let it out, me.

I let go of her hand;
She belongs to the quiet now.
