A deep poem contrasting evil and good, dark and light, as the streetlight flickers.
One streetlight casts a dim and diabolical glare on an abandoned street.
The light is as golden and unwelcoming as the touch of King Midas.
*blink*
The light goes out and darkness floods in.
Unseen evils crawl out of their dens
*blink*
The familiar yet mysterious light is back.
It reveals all sins and evils as what they really are.
*blink*
A piercing cry reaches my ears.
I realize the scream had been uttered by my own soul.
*blink*
The sound is strangely comforting.
It proves something I've doubted for so long, I have a soul.
*blink*
The betrayal seeps out of the ground like an assassin.
It can't be stopped, it won't be stopped.
The light is gone forever.
