A warm recognition of mortality, if there is such a thing.
South for the Winter

Up in age; turn of grey
Southern trek; Season's stay
Summers grow shorter, winters long
Season's change; the long ride home

You'll see:
How big the kids have grown
How six months have been so long
How much it all has changed
And everything has stayed the same.

I'll see:
My youth covered by another page
How six months has seen you age
How father time will earn his wage
The last time we disengage
