To all Mothers everywhere...you all belong
Motherhood is more than pregnancy and giving birth,
It is loving, nurturing, teaching, and most importantly,
Guiding a child to find his or her own self worth.

Motherhood is heartache when you hear your baby cry,
And indescribable joy when he smiles and reaches for you;
Your life before, impossible to remember even if you try.

Motherhood is more than just raising children of our own,
It is passing on knowledge gained from mothers gone before,
Making the world a brighter place, starting in your home.

Motherhood is letting go, while always holding on,
Watching children grow into who they are, needing you less,
Yet needing you still, as each day needs to begin with dawn.

While most mothers give birth, many who cannot choose to adopt,
And then there are those who might not have children at all,
These are teachers and caregivers who help us do our job.

Motherhood is a sisterhood, to which we all belong,
A sacred honor and duty bestowed upon us,
And we rely upon one another to stay sane and strong.

So to all mothers out there, whatever type you may be,
My wish is that everyday your remember how special you are,
Not only to your children, but to each other and to me.
