Retrospective on Divorce
Irreconcilable Indifferences

He said, she said and both were sad
The fire of early passion denigrated
into a blaze of destruction
that was all consuming
leaving little but scar tissue,
shattered dreams
broken hearts
emptiness
hurt

why did it have to be this way
no one knows for sure, it just is
maybe stubbornness
benign neglect
selfishness
suspicion
fear

What could have been done is irrelevant
what should have been done not applicable
it is just fragmented
fractured
broken
gone

Who's fault has no bearing in a no fault world
it always come down to the stuff
mutual punishment
what can I get
rather than
what have
we lost
sad
