Forever Yours

Forever yours he told her,
as he looked into her eyes.
He said he would always love her
from the earth up until the sky.

She told him all her secrets,
for he never spoke a word.
He washed away her regrets,
With a batting of his long dark lashes.

Neither of them were perfect,
and he was way out of her league.
Yet in their eyes they were equals.
Two halves equal a whole.

Every night he'd whisper the same words in her ear;
Forever yours my darling,
from now until beyond my death.
The stars are young and so are we.

One day the sun was singing,
and the unpredictable occurred,
what happened was a tragedy for sure.
A gunshot to the stomach, and out poured the boy's life.

On his death bed she was crying,
And he whispered in her ear;
I'm forever yours my darling, I always have been and I always will be.
My time is done my girl, but I hope you'll always love me.
