A song about sacrifice, from a fictional character I created called Ryan Lyandree.
-Déjà vu-

Locked inside this prison again
I’m searching through my muscles
I’m searching through my brain
I’m searching for a spec of truth and evidence.

Hot blooded and hard headed…
Where do I go now?

I’m so tempted, about to tear off this shell
I’m so tempted to step in, deeper, further
I’m so tempted to plunge down where I fell
Not much of a hell if it’s a temporary shelter.

My greatest concern is now the scars I could leave on the way through…

And so I fear of what I might find behind that door
And then I think maybe it’s not worth drowning here for
Terrified of repetition circling around times infinite
I am afraid I still can’t define my own existence.

In desperation I find some solace…

I see the light at this gaping hole
Sucking in through this tunnel
Particles and molecules revolt
Forming a line, a path to follow.

Déjà vu, I’ve been in this place
Still searching through my muscles
Still searching through my brain
The neuron system gives a jump start to start all over again…

So bloated and cold hearted…
Where should I look now?

I’m so tempted, about to tear off this shell
I’m so tempted to step in, deeper, further
I’m so tempted to plunge down where I fell
Not much of a hell if it’s a temporary shelter.

My greatest concern is now the trace I could leave on the way through…

And so I fear of what I might get if I look some more
And then I think maybe it’s not worth drowning here for
Terrified of repetition circling around times infinite
I am afraid I still can’t define my own existence.

In such uneasiness I came across a relief…

I see the light at this gaping hole
Sucking in through this tunnel
Particles and molecules revolt
Forming a line, a path to follow.

My sweat, my saliva, my blood
Detached from my flesh
Won’t be in vain
I won’t let it be.
