...As in Man.
It came in the evening.
It came in the night.
A smile so sinister,
A motive not right.

It ran across carpet
And tiptoed across wood.
It slipped through shadows
Like nothing ever should.

Its eyes were so hollow.
Its heart was so dark.
Its voice could kill
With a single remark.

The gloom is its home.
The darkness gives might.
It thrives to find you sleeping
And give you a fright.

But light is its weakness,
Shining so bright.
I’m protected in my sleep
By the powerful night light!
