Just something a friend and I talked about today, inspired this poem when I got home.

You have a life,
I have none.
I have "adults",
you have a son.

You are needed
where you live.
You have to decide
how much time to give.

If I had my way
I would keep you for me.
I want you for myself,
but I know we both agree

it can't be that way.
We knew it from the start.
There are many times
that we have to be apart.

Maybe it will change some day
to where we can be as one.
Until then we will make do,
and make each day seem fun.

I know you stay
as often as you can.
And things to go do
are really hard to plan.

But I cherish each day
I get to spend with you,
And I love you very much,
if you haven't gotten the clue!!
