I MUST BE DREAMING

He stood there, looking at me with sad eyes
and it took me a minute or two just to realize
that this was Jesus, who answers all prayer,
come to take me away from all earthly care.

I heard His voice tremble as He held out his hand,
"Things sometimes happen you won't understand.
but you must have faith and truly believe in me,
for I can heal your wounds and set your soul free."

I seemed to be floating above the scene below,
two cars collided, how I survived I don't know.
Silvery light shone down from a crescent moon,
He said "It's not your time, it's much too soon."

I was filled with a peace, a strange sort of calm.
I wanted to stay there, for the music had charm.
Angels were singing, yet in the distance I heard
a bird singing a beautiful hymn of His Word.

I awoke with a start as dawn started to break,
what I'd seen in Heaven I just couldn't shake!
I must be dreaming, no other way to explain;
a vision or warning, it was all way too plain.

I felt at peace with the world, I felt Him so near
and I said "Thank you, Lord, at last it is clear
that you are always with me, my soul to keep,
I'm thankful for the dreams I see in my sleep.
