The collapse of light, of love. Contest entry.
Dorothy's song in horror doth wain,
no birds over the rainbow.
The wicked witch will not be slain,
fallen angels bring sorrow.

Love a warm and happy blue,
evil seizes its chance.
Gladly taking up its cue,
hate puts the world in a trance.

Orange, a happy fuzzy thing,
sweeter treats await.
Innocence taken under greedy wing,
no more warmth will it create.

Sunny yellow soon to die,
life in each of its rays.
Death overcomes, the colors cry,
finality claims its place.

Green of growth and progress fails,
stopping in its track.
Destruction soon fills all the sky,
a swarm of ravens attack.

Violet certain, deep, and wise,
abandoned, left to die.
Wisdom never to recognise,
the will of self, the proud high.

Beneath the rainbow that once was,
looking up in shock.
Horror all around doth buzz,
circling a splitting rock.

An ark in the sky casting naught but red,
the end of the rainbow here.
Dreams of happy gold long dead,
out of the ground rises fear.

Dorothy's song now starts anew,
no joy, just evil claim.
Darkness risen from a fall,
hunger the one sole aim.

To the wrong side, my soul I deliver,
due to pay for my sin.
Eternity with soulless shiver,
watch Hell on Earth begin.
