Mom's day gift 2008
I want to be the Mother,
Who always knows what to say,
With a hug and a smile,
That brightens my children’s day.

I want my kids to remember
Baking cookies and helping make treats
Every great Mom has a stash
Of yummy homemade sweets!

I want to be the one my children
Know they can come to,
Any time of any day,
Even if only to help tie a shoe.

I want to hear the sounds of
Laughter echoing down my halls,
Maybe I’ll rethink that when
I’m scrubbing crayon from the walls!

I hope to be the Mother who
Is active in their schools,
Staying in touch with their lives,
While holding to my rules.

I hope to be the Mother that
Will let her children make mistakes,
And let them learn their lessons,
Within reasonable stakes.

I hope my children come to me
Even after they’re gone and grown,
Seeking my words of wisdom on subjects
They once thought I wouldn’t have known.

I hope to be the Mother
Who always knows what to do.
I want to be the Mother
I was fortunate enough to have in you.
